TITLE-VIDEOSTROBOSCOPIC CHANGES AND VOICE HANDICAP INDEX(VHI) IN PROFESSIONAL VOICE USER AND COMPARISON WITH NON-PROFESSIONAL VOICE USERS.
Purpose-Evaluation of vocal fold on Video stroboscopy and perception of voice handicap in professional voice users and comparison with non-professional voice users.
Methodology-Prospective Observational study of Total 120(including 60 for case group and 60 for control group) patient with complaints voice change more than 2 weeks, Age 18-60 years.
(Excluding Voice changes with- malignant tumor, post radiotherapy, Post tracheostomy /Post Intubation, Thoracic and Neurogenic cause of Vocal cord palsy, Previous laryngeal surgery)
Thorough ENT history taking, examination and VHI questionnaire done. Video laryngoscopy and Video stroboscopy done. Evaluation of VHI and Video stroboscopic parameters in professional voice users done and compared with non-professional voice users.
Conclusion-Professional voice users (singers, teachers, telemarketer, sales-worker, lawyers and other profession whose job reliant on their voice) has high perception of voice handicap and structural changes of vocal fold (most commonly vocal fold nodule then cyst and polyp) in comparison with non-professional voice users.
