Abstract | Objective
A singing/voice approach for complete resonance within 2-3 years regardless of age: VoiceVoSi (VVS)
Methods
VoiceVoSi(VVS) keeps the core principles of musicianship. The primary tool for vocal transformation within the VVS framework is the teeth-lever, a technique involving the deliberate clenching of teeth in training. Within the VVS context, teeth-levers is a means to redirect sound production toward the pharynx, similar to ventriloquism.
Supplementary tools in the VVS toolkit include:
A) Humming for resonance, with or without clenched teeth.
B) Silent singing with oral tract moving without making sounds, hearing the results internally.
C) Use straws or semi-occluded vocal tract techniques.
D) Engaging the complete vestibular system, a sensory system within the inner ear conveying spatial and motion data to the brain. Within the scope of VVS, this component involves: a) Singing while walking, engaging the calf muscles, often referred to as the “2nd heart,” to facilitate blood circulation for the high powerful notes. b) Singing with the “2nd brain” in the gut, keeping air in the abdominal region to ensure rib stability. c) Implementing specific yoga poses during singing/humming training sessions to elongate the pharynx outward, and specific yoga poses to enhance blood flow to the mask, making singing in the mask more natural. d) Significance of diet, herbs, and advanced probiotics for the throat.
Results
The presenter’s personal journey of singing, commencing at the age of mid-50s, started with four years of self training in traditional singing approach with small improvements, then 2 years of self training using VVS with exponential improvements underscores its efficacy.
Noteworthy is that VVS eliminates the need for knowledge of the array of terminologies found in traditional singing approaches, i.e., head voice, mixed voice, throat anatomy, etc. VVS is learning through imitation, much like the language acquisition process of young children. Beyond singing, it encompasses accent acquisition, dialects, and ventriloquism. VVS can uniquely empower individuals to independently train their vocal abilities.
To illustrate the result of 2 years
of VVS, the presenter’s recordings of iconic songs from genres: Disney’s, Jazz, Pop, Rock, French, Latin, and Vietnamese are available on https://voicevosi.com
Conclusions
VVS succeeds as a pedagogical method focused on optimizing vocal potential, emphasizing open-throat technique, singing in the mask, speech level singing, clarity, and full resonance. It involves systematic development of the cervical region through comprehensive involvement of the vestibular system. The essential aspect of this method involves rapid iterations of singing, recording, and listening.
