- VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS
The Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University is searching for up to three faculty members with expertise in speech-language pathology, particularly in the areas of articulation, fluency, language disorders, atypical development, neuroanatomy, motor speech and/or voice. The successful applicants will hold the position of Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure line) and will be responsible for teaching didactic courses and advising. Excellent teaching skills are required; no clinical supervision is involved. The department houses research laboratories studying hearing, speech, swallowing, language and learning; vibrant BS, MS, AuD, and PhD programs; and state-of-the-art clinics in audiology and speech, language and learning.
Employment term: Full time, one-year appointments to begin September 1, 2014.
Duties: Teach two to three courses per quarter throughout the year, and participate in administrative duties. Course topics to be decided based on the successful applicant’s areas of expertise and the needs of the academic program.
Qualifications: Earned PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or related field. Clinical experience and CCC-SLP preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Description: The Department of Rehabilitation Therapy is seeking a dynamic licensed Speech Language Pathologist to provide services to adults and children primarily in our specialty Voice Center. Candidates must be familiar with the assessment and management of a wide variety of voice disorders. Qualified applicants will possess a strong background in stroboscopy, acoustic/aerodynamic assessment of voice disorders and instrumental vocal evaluation. Experience treating vocal professionals (singers, academic instructors, etc.) and comfort with the injured singer population is essential. Hospital experience is preferred. This position is a full-time position, M-F with infrequent weekend and holiday coverage expectation.
Qualifications: Requires current and valid license issued by the NC board of Examiners for Speech & Language Pathologists. ASHA Certification required. Must have at least one year of experience in the field of Speech Pathology.
